Greetings from the paranormal capital of the world - New Orleans, Louisiana! Home of ghosts, goblins, and Vampires alike. (Ok, maybe not goblins). Welcome to my official website!
Official…
Does that sound vainglorious? *Shrug* I don’t think so. To be honest, I never thought I would ever actually have an “official” anything but here I am.
Where was I?
Oh yes. Welcome! I am so glad you are here. More importantly, I am glad that you WANT to be here. (Blink rapidly three times if someone is holding a gun to your head). Just in case you didn’t know my name is S.K. Whiteside and I am a Mythic Fiction author of Contemporary Urban and Historical Fantasy. By day I am Bruce Wayne. Just kidding, I am actually much cooler. Seriously, by day I work as a Therapist (or as I like to call myself…a realist). I have a pretty good track record and that probably has to do with the fact that my quirkiness can’t help but sometimes seep into my work. I write because the voices in my head won’t stop talking to me (hello, irony!).
Most of my stories have a background in Egyptian Mythology which I have always been a huge fan of. Don’t get me wrong – I love all things rooted in history but historically Egyptian Mythology is the basis for everything we know today (e.g. medicine, math, written expression, religion). One day I asked myself how that tidbit related to paranormal phenomena (I do live in New Orleans, so it’s only natural that the question popped into my head). One thing led to another and before you know it I was creating stories using all kinds of information I researched in history – most of which I am still writing. The problem for me is, there is so much history that the stories continue to invade my creative conscious which can be hell when I am working on a book and have to stop to write something for another. On the plus side, I will have an abundance of stories for you all for years to come.
So, take a look. Browse around. Drop a line. Let me know if you like what you see. The website is always under construction so be sure to check back regularly for more information and updates. Also check out the “Contact Me” section for my official social media accounts to follow.
There goes that word again.
